Advantages and disadvantages of threaded flange

2019-05-16 15:44:52   COMMENT:0 HITS:
Threaded flange is a kind of non-welded flange, which processes the inner hole of flange into pipe thread and connects with threaded pipe. Compared with flat welded flange or butt welded flange, threaded flange has the characteristics of convenient installation and maintenance, and can be used in some pipelines where welding is not allowed. Alloy steel flange has enough strength, but it is not easy to weld, or the welding performance is not good, also can choose threaded flange. However, when the temperature of the pipeline changes sharply or the temperature is higher than 260 C and lower than - 45 C, it is recommended not to use the threaded flange to avoid leakage.

When the thread type of the ANSI RF 304L Carbon Steel Forged Threaded Flange is 55 pipe threads according to GB7306, the outer diameter of the steel pipe for DN150 flange should be 165.1 mm. When using 60 conical pipe threads, the outer diameter of steel pipe for DN65 flange should be 73 mm, and that for DN125 flange should be 141.3 mm. Special attention should be paid in use. The nominal pressure range and nominal diameter range of the threaded flange are set with reference to ISO7005-1. PN0.6-4.0 MPA, DN10-150 mm.
