Connection Mode of Socket Flange

　　Socket flange is abbreviated as SW flange. The basic shape of socket flange is the same as that of flat welded flange with neck. That is to say, there is a socket hole in the inner hole of flange, the pipe is inserted into the socket hole and welded on the back of flange. Because of the gap between socket flange, it is easy to produce corrosion. If another weld in the flange, this corrosion can be avoided. The fatigue strength of socket flange welded on both sides is 5% higher than that of flat flange, but the static strength is the same. When using this ANSI Class300 Stainless Steel Socket Flange,the inner diameter of the flange should be the same as that of the pipe.Socket flange is only suitable for pipes with nominal diameter less than 150.

　　Socket flange is divided into threaded connection (wire connection) flange and welded flange. Low pressure small diameter wire-jointed flange, high pressure and low pressure large diameter are all welded flange, the thickness of flange under different pressure and the diameter and number of connecting bolts are different. According to the different levels of pressure, flange pads also have different materials, from low-pressure asbestos pads, high-pressure asbestos pads to metal pads. Flange connection is easy to use and can withstand greater pressure. Socket flange connections are widely used in industrial pipelines.
